My original plan for my blog was to review all the different genre of books that I read ……………. however, a recent win on Twitter has led me astray in that respect as today, I am going to tell you a little bit more about this instead! If you are a friend on Facebook, you will already have seen the photo I posted when my prize arrived!
The competition was run by Ride Side By Side (@ridesidebyside). No brain power needed! just having to retweet the competition tweet. Their Twitter profile will tell you:
RideSideBySide is an ambitious 12 days cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End, to raise money for Help for Heroes and Caudwell Children.
So who are RideSideBySide and why are they raising money?
Engineered by Quest 88, Ride Side By Side is an ambitious cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End. Spread across 12 days with an average of 80 miles being covered per day and it is hoped it will ultimately raise £1,000,000 which will be split between two amazing charities – Help for Heroes and Caudwell Children.
Wanting to go one step further than previously achieved, there is a fantastic twist to this cycle challenge. Quest 88 manufacturers and distributes a range of tricycles for people with varying levels of disability and three of the four tandems will be ridden by a Quest 88 employee – David Vernon-Henshaw (Joint Managing Director), Mark Leary (Technical Services Engineer) and Tony Smart (Design Engineer).
David, Mark and Tony will be accompanied by representatives from the three armed forces that have been injured while serving their country along with friends and staff from Caudwell Children.
Launch date is 14th April 2012.
Definitely an ambitious cycle ride! Not only can you donate but you can become involved by being a helper at the events.
